Week Two Recap

Six games were played in week two, and Mother Nature rained out two days of action: Here’s what happened in week two:

Monday, June 3- Freaky Franchise at Master Batters

Game 1- Freaky Franchise 21, Master Batters 9

WP-Suhre (1-1)

LP-Rupp (0-1)

BJ Turner matched Ryan Bush with three homers, but the Franchise racked up the walks and runs in this blowout.

Game 2- Freaky Franchise 17, Master Batters 13

WP-Bigler (1-0)

LP-Rupp (0-2)

Kloos and Turner each had a homer, as did Tomkins and Bigler for the Franchise. The Franchise just made them matter more.

Tuesdsay, June 4- Master Batters at Freaky Franchise

Game 1-Freaky Franchise 8, Master Batters 4

WP-Suhre (2-1)

LP-Rupp (0-3)

S-Bigler (1)

Rupp and Turner both went hard once, but the Franchise played small ball and Bigler pulled out the save.

Game 2-Freaky Franchise 12, Master Batters 2

WP-Tomkins (1-0)

LP-Rupp (0-4)

Bigler and Bush each homered in this one, and the Franchise’s pitching shut down the Batters for the season sweep.

Wednesday, June 5- Pavlov’s Dawgs at Schweaty Sachs

Game 1-Pavlov’s Dawgs 6, Schweaty Sachs 5

WP-Frankel (2-0)

LP-Maves (0-1)

Erb and Maves both went yard for the Sachs, but Benzing hit one that mattered more. Small ball wins this game for the Dawgs.

Game 2-Schweaty Sachs 16, Pavlov’s Dawgs 14

LP- Frankel (2-1)

This was a homer fest for both sides, but the Dawgs couldn’t pull it out. Homer totals for the Dawgs: Benzing with one, DiLoreto, Frankel, and Knill each had two. Homer totals for the Sachs: Maves and Sacheli with one each, and Dave Erb with four (!!). These teams split their season series 2-2.

Pitcher of the Week: Jon Suhre- 1-0, 8 IP (1 CG), 6 K, 6.50 ERA
